About the Client

The client is a pioneer in urban indoor agriculture and a leading fresh food company. The company builds and operates sustainable greenhouses across the US. They grow their year-round supply of local produce and deliver the greens to retail, restaurants, and foodservice customers. The highly automated and climate-controlled facilities enable the company to monitor their crops’ health and progress to deliver fresher products to their customers. Established in 2009, the company operates 500,000 square feet of high-tech greenhouses across five US states.

Business Challenge

The company’s unconventional greenhouses are custom-built, data-driven, and tech-enabled facilities. The high-tech climate-controlled greenhouses operate on several complex applications spread across multiple servers. The company required a team of experts with IT and domain knowledge, to help them manage and monitor their specialized IT infrastructure for the climate-controlled greenhouse facilities.

Additionally, the company’s IT setup included some legacy systems that presented several security risks. To protect and manage its IT infrastructure, the company aspired to create an innovative, centralized, automated, intelligent, and process-driven IT infrastructure that would enable proactive and preventive interventions to aid its business growth. Trigent Solution

With an aim to implement an intelligent infrastructure management solution, the company decided to revamp and enhance the approach to managing its business-critical IT infrastructure. The company trusted Trigent to build agile, scalable, and responsive IT operations functions.

A comprehensive assessment of the existing infrastructure identified gaps in effective server management. Leveraging Ninja RMM, Trigent developed a solution for end-to-end server patch management. Ongoing server monitoring and management were handled by the Trigent team as a managed service, allowing the company to free up its IT resources for core tasks.

Veeam was implemented in conjunction with Ninja RMM to address distributed server backup management . The design, development, and monitoring operations of the revamped IT Infrastructure were being orchestrated through a centralized Offshore Delivery Center (ODC) , staffed by Trigent’s team of tech and domain experts.
