Trigent Software Pvt. Ltd. has committed to sustainability and green initiatives to reduce absolute scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions by 42% by FY2030 from an FY2023 base year. Within the same timeframe, it has also committed to reducing scope 3 GHG emissions by 51.6% per FTE. The Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) classifies the commitment as being in line with the scope 1 and 2 target ambition and a 1.5°C trajectory. This is part of Trigent’s Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) charter.

Trigent’s ESG-focused, eco-friendly sustainability practices aim to reduce our carbon footprint. These efforts will include using energy-efficient technologies, opting for renewable energy sources, participating in programs that help offset emissions, using waste reduction and recycling technologies, and sustainable sourcing in a phased manner.

The SBTi is a corporate climate action organization that enables companies and financial institutions worldwide to use standards, tools, and guidance to develop achievable science-based targets and play their part in combating the climate crisis.

The SBTi’s Target Validation Team has validated that the science-based greenhouse gas emissions reduction target(s) submitted by Trigent Software Pvt. Ltd. conform with the SBTi Criteria and Recommendations (Criteria version 5.2). With this, Trigent Software has joined the global effort to ensure global heating is kept below catastrophic levels and net-zero emission is achieved by 2050.

Trigent Software believes a collective effort can limit global temperature rise to 1.50C. It realizes the importance and urgency of making rapid and deep emission cuts before 2030 to achieve net zero before 2050. “Achieving SBTi approval for our net-zero targets is a key step in our sustainability journey. At Trigent, we embrace a culture of conservation and innovation, ensuring our efforts contribute positively to the global environment. Our mission goes beyond providing IT services—it extends to creating a sustainable future for all,” said Bharat Khatau, Chairman and CEO, Trigent Software.

The commitment to SBTi is part of Trigent’s larger ESG framework for socially responsible investments that address the health and safety of our employees, stakeholders, and the planet.
